Craig and I were so excited to be having our first baby. We were already spoiling him during the pregnancy with tons of cute baby items, toys, clothes, an organic mattress... and we were proud to do so. We both couldn't wait to meet him, though anxious about being good parents. Though I had some hard times during the pregnancy, it was nothing that affected Gideon and so I never thought I wouldn't see him live a day. I had a final ultrasound to confirm he was breech two weeks before a scheduled c-section. I was 36 weeks along and we found that his heart had stopped beating. Gideon was born a few hours later and we found that the cord had wrapped around his neck five times. A completely freak accident. There was nothing we could do to know there was a problem. He had moved around a lot the day before. We will miss Gideon forever. He was our perfect angel and we will always love him.
