Bethany Joy was born July 22, 2008 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Many factors combined to make surgery not an option for our dear girl. We said good-bye on her 15th day. Her eyes, her mouth, her skin, her voice, her movements, her little sounds – each a miracle of life, love, and longing. It’s true, every moment of life is precious – we know this now like we never knew it before. We’re so thankful for every moment we had with Bethany – gratitude takes the edge off the pain. We understand more about God’s love for us now that we have become parents. More, we’re thankful that her spirit is alive with Christ and we will be with her again. We’re so thankful for Jennifer Brown and Arah Kunz from Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep who gave us their whole hearts and so many beautiful pictures of our last evening with Bethany.
