Our story starts with hope. A single picture. Pink or blue? It seemed the entire family was by my side, all on the verge of joyous tears. However, those joyous tears would soon turn to heartbreak as we received the diagnosis of anecnephaly and the knowledge that it would claim his life. I was about 5 months along when we learned that Damion would not be with us for long. My mother and I took on the task of researching whatever we could to help us preserve Damion's memory forever. Among the websites that offered endless compassion and creative ideas for this special situation, we found the NILMDTS organization. Immediately we searched the site for a photographer in our area, and found Robin. I called her and told her my story and when the time came, she spent EIGHT hours in that hospital with us. Damion had been passed for 5 days in my womb, but her pictures captured his light and essence. He was and still is our mosy beautiful memory. Thank you will just never be enough...
