Daniel Luke was born on May 15, 2008. When I was 6 months pregnant, we learned that Daniel had a heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. A week later, through an amnio, Daniel was diagnosed with Smith Lemli Opitz syndrome. Just days after learning that our baby's condition was "not compatible with life", NILMDTS was featured on the Today show. It was a comfort to know that your organization existed. When Daniel was born, our photographer Natalie came to the hospital and took dozens of precious photographs of Daniel and of our family with him. While Daniel lived for just over 20 hours, it is through these beautiful photographs that we can remember Daniel and study every beautiful inch of him. Natalie did an excellent job, capturing every soft, sweet feature of our tiny son. Our thanks to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep and to Natalie for capturing the short time that our family had with our son and brother, Daniel Luke. With loving gratitude, Jennifer Mendez
