My dream of being a Mom came true on Jan. 24, 2007 after three earlier miscarriages and years of infertility - I finally had a son and daughter. On January 18 I went into preterm labor. Abigail and Noah were born at 25 week's gestation - Abigail weighing 1 lb. 11.5 oz. & Noah 1 lb. 12.5 oz. Despite their size, the doctors were optimistic. Without warning on Jan. 26, both babies were dying. I held Noah and then Abigail in my arms as they died less than an hour apart. I was asked if I would like NILMDTS photographer Heather Lombardo to come take pictures. She spent hours and took hundreds of pictures without being intrusive. What I appreciated about NILMDTS was the opportunity it gave us to bond with our children. Heather had me lay down and hold Noah and Abigail against my chest. She put a ribbon in my daughter's hair and little hats on their heads. When we went to pick up the photos, I was amazed. They brought tears to my eyes. The pictures in a small way gave me back my children.
