August 25th 2005 a day that began with anticipation excitement joy and hope. For it was on this day we were to bring our third son into this world. Little did we know the devastation that awaited us that would tear our world apart change our lives forever and give us a brutal life's lesson on what is truly important. What started out as a text book pregnancy normal check ups and perfect labor ended abruptly in heartwrenching sadness. During labor as our perfect baby was trying to make his way into the world, his umbilical cord got in the way. With each contraction, the cord wrapped tighter around his little body and neck eventually compromising his O2 supply. The final contraction was when Chase's heart monitor stopped. No signs. No warning. Our baby boy was gone. NILMDTS Photographer Steve Seifried was called to come take pictures. Through these images, Steve gave our baby back to us. Baby Chase will be loved forever, never forgotten.
