What To Expect
In an effort to maintain good relations with hospital staff, we have come up with some simple guidelines that NILMDTS affiliated photographers are to follow. We feel it is important to conduct ourselves in a uniform manner in all the hospitals we serve. This will make life easier on the staff as well as our volunteers. We need to conduct our business with as little disruption to L&D and NICU as possible.
- As a member of NILMDTS, photographers are not to use their affiliation with the organization to solicit or promote their personal photography business. This will be grounds for immediate removal from NILMDTS.
- When NILMDTS affiliated photographers are in the hospital for a NILMDTS session, they are a guest of the family. They must respect that position and refrain from being a distraction to nurses or doctors who are busy taking care of patients. They are advised to limit the amount of contact they have with on-duty hospital staff.
- If NILMDTS affiliated photographers feel they must address an issue dealing with NILMDTS sessions with the hospital staff, they are encouraged to make an appointment. Hospital staff and administration appreciate our efforts, but they are conducting business and cannot always accommodate an impromptu visit by a NILMDTS photographer.
- As professionals, it is important that NILMDTS affiliated photographers conduct our business in a humble and respectful manner. While inside the NICU, NILMDTS affiliated photographers must contain their activity to the vicinity of the family they are called to serve. If they are waiting to conduct a session, they must remain in appropriate waiting areas. Roaming throughout the NICU is a violation of patient privacy and a health concern for the infants as well as our NILMDTS affiliated photographers.
- NILMDTS affiliated photographers are mindful that hospital staff are working and do not have time to socialize with hospital guests.
- NILMDTS affiliated photographers must leave the hospital promptly when they are finished with their session.
Please remember that Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is a VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION. NILMDTS is not an affiliate, volunteer or a vendor of or for your institution. NILMDTS is there at the request and as a guest of the family. It is important that our conduct is above reproach to ensure continued success to your medical center and families.
