In the days leading up to the Ohio Virtual Remembrance Walk, we encourage you to visit the OH Walk event page on Facebook and share your personal story. Share a 2-minute video with other Ohio participants about what the walk means to you and who you are honoring and/or if you are doing anything special on the day of the walk. Watch Jennifer Livingston, Ohio Walk Committee Member, sharing her story about her son, Andrew Michael.
OHIO WALK IS NOW A VIRTUAL EVENT:
NILMDTS has made the difficult decision to make the NILMDTS Ohio Remembrance Walk a Virtual Walk on Sunday, August 30th. We did not take making this decision lightly and after meeting with our Ohio Walk committee volunteers we weighed several factors including:
1. The health and safety of all Walk participants.
2. Resource to adequately plan the in-person walk so every participant can have a meaningful experience.
3. Limitations on size of gathering due to social distancing. We currently have a greater number of participants than what is allowed to gather at the venue, which would put us in a position to have to turn participants away.
4. Due to size limitations and restrictions, the Walk expenses would outweigh revenue.
Remembering your baby(ies) is an important part of the healing journey and our NILMDTS team is committed to creating a virtual opportunity to honor and remember all the babies that have died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, neonatal, or any type of infant loss.
The NILMDTS Remembrance Walk, “Our Journey Together” is for parents, family members, and friends to come together to remember a precious baby who has died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, neonatal or any type of pregnancy or infant loss.
The NILMDTS Remembrance Walk is an opportunity to bring honor to our babies and healing to our hearts. The Walk also ensures future support to families who will sadly walk in our shoes one day.
The Walk includes an online presentation with readings, music, and speakers to honor your baby. During the presentation, each baby is honored by having his or her name read aloud. Following the presentation, we encourage all participants to journey with their friends and family for a one mile reflective walk in their own community. Together, we will create the same sense of community and support found at our in person walks.
Online registration is now closed.
Registration items will be mailed to each Team Leader. If you are not the Team Leader and prefer to have your items mailed directly to you, you can purchase our Walk Registration Product here until 8/21/20.
We ask parents to register all children for liability purposes. Thank you.
The presentation will be available online Saturday, August 30, 2020, at 9:00 am Eastern Time and shared on our YouTube Channel. The direct video link will be shared the morning of the event or you can use the link to our channel here.
