What do I do if I am interested in becoming an Area Coordinator?

Local Area Coordinators are interviewed and once accepted, receive extended online training to be the first point of contact for any questions or issues that may arise locally. Area Coordinators are the face and voice of NILMDTS in their area.

While considered local leaders, ACs should work cooperatively with the volunteer team to enhance the volunteer experience. The Area Coordinator is principally a team leader who will be guiding, mentoring, and supporting your team as you pursue recruiting, hospital outreach, and team-building efforts. This involves identifying and prioritizing the needs of families of loss in your area, determining the current team capabilities to meet those needs, and leading the process to recruit volunteers to address unmet needs, with the goal of, over time, becoming a self-sustaining team.

If you are interested in applying for the role of Area Coordinator, please reach out to our Volunteer Support Team at support@nilmdts.org. If you are already an approved volunteer, you are welcome to fill out the Area Coordinator Application to get started.
