September 2020 Volunteer Spotlight

Hope Jeffcoat, Affiliated Photographer, has been a volunteer since 2012 and over the years has taken breaks as the seasons of life change. Recently she has returned again and was welcomed with many changes. Hope wanted to share her admiration of her Columbia, SC Area Coordinator, Brenda Young.

Hope had taken a break after a very tough session with twins. Her family circumstances had changed a bit as well and then COVID hit. During that time Brenda would check in with her every so often which meant a lot to Hope. Brenda went above and beyond and sent face masks printed with cameras to all the local volunteers, and she included Hope. Just a small gesture that made Hope feel valued. Hope immediately started thinking about becoming active again and messaged Brenda for the details since so much had changed. Brenda was a HUGE help and so supportive during the renewal process.

Brenda Young has been a NILMDTS Photographer since February 2015 and Area Coordinator since December 2018 and has been involved in 130 sessions.

From the bottom of all our hearts, from NILMDTS Staff and Volunteer Leadership, we thank you very much for all your efforts in serving your local families!
