Maeleigh Rose: A Love That Will Always Be Remembered

From the very beginning, our baby girl was already deeply loved.

My pregnancy had moments that felt normal and hopeful, but there were also signs along the way that something wasn't quite right. At the time, we didn't know that my body was struggling with cervical insufficiency.

Even though our time with her was far too short, there are moments that we will cherish forever. Just a few days before I went into labor, her daddy got to feel her kick for the first time. We will always be grateful for that moment. Feeling her move was one of the most special parts of pregnancy, and knowing that he got to experience it means so much to both of us. It's a memory we will hold onto forever.

Our World Changed at 22 Weeks

At 22 weeks and 5 days, our world changed forever.

Nothing prepares you for the moment you realize you are going to meet your baby far sooner than you should. The excitement and anticipation of welcoming our daughter suddenly turned into heartbreak.

When she was born, she was so tiny, yet so incredibly beautiful. She truly looked like an angel. Even though she was small, she was perfectly formed in every way. I studied every little detail of her face, trying to memorize everything about her. In those moments, time felt both frozen and far too fast at the same time. I wanted to hold onto every second we had with her.

A Gift We Will Treasure Forever

In the middle of that heartbreak, we were given a gift through the kindness of Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS).

The remembrance photographs we received are something we will treasure for the rest of our lives. They allow us to remember every detail of our beautiful daughter. When so much of our time with her felt fleeting, these photographs became lasting reminders of her life, her beauty, and the love we will always have for her.

Our baby girl will always be part of our family. She made us parents, even though we didn't get the lifetime with her that we dreamed of. Her life, no matter how short, changed us forever.
