Honoring Grady

This year, we are hosting a golf tournament called the Grady Classic in honor of our son Grady, who was a stillborn last summer. We are a big golf family, so what better way to be on a course with friends and family celebrating our son’s life, and raising money for local nonprofits that play a massive role in supporting families who have gone through pregnancy and child loss.

We have chosen to donate to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep as one of the two nonprofits as they make a significant impact on the families they support. They take beautiful photos and put on events for families that allow for network building and relationship support with others who have gone through a similar loss. I am also a pediatric cardiology nurse and, unfortunately, have been involved in a few deaths at work but have utilized the items from the NILMDTS Colorado Care Package program to help support those families as they have grieved the loss of their child. This organization has impacted my professional life and my personal life.

We have created this fundraising golf tournament to support these local nonprofits that supply fantastic gifts and support for families. No one ever expects to be a part of this community but knowing that there are influential groups whose passion and mission support you as you are going through the worst event of your life is humbling.

The Grady Classic is June 6th, 2022, at The Pinery Country Club. 8 am shotgun start—4-person scramble with many opportunities to win prizes. A silent auction will follow. We are asking $150 per person or $600 per foursome, including a grab-and-go breakfast, lunch buffet, $10 per person in the clubhouse, range balls, green fees, and a cart.

All proceeds will be split evenly between NILMDTS and Walk With Me.

One way to create a legacy for your baby is by creating a campaign or hosting a remembrance event to raise support for NILMDTS. Remembrance Events take many different forms:

5K Race Art Related
Golf Tournament Running/Triathlon
Release Ceremony Yard Sales
Candle Lighting Ceremony Golf Tournaments
Health Related Jewelry Making
